"You constantly feel like you’re supported and appreciated..."
I’d worked as a CPA or a controller-level employee in a half-dozen businesses over my career. I always gravitated to the service industries where I felt most at home. My last stop was with a healthcare organization and when COVID struck, and we transitioned into a hybrid workplace, I spent most of my time working remotely. That opened my eyes to the idea of finally getting intentional about finding that perfect spot where I could use my decades of skills in accounting and financial management to give something back to nonprofits while working remotely.
The things that you read on YPTC’s website about how the company protects its employees and strives to be a great place to work does not even begin to do justice to the culture that YPTC really has. I’ve seen a lot of companies where their accounting department is viewed as a cost center and staff are treated as a necessary evil, overworked and under-appreciated. Working at YPTC I’ve felt nothing but being appreciated and valued from the get-go.
It really is the work-life balance that they advertise. You just get the absolute best treatment from everybody in the organization. It’s such a great feeling. I tell my clients that I’ve found the perfect home.
This is an environment where you constantly feel like you’re supported and appreciated. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you always feel valued. I love the people I work with and the fact that we are helping organizations do so much in the community and the world. I can’t imagine a better situation for an accountant to have his career really mean something and to feel so valued that you love coming to work every day.
My original plan was that this was going to be the last job of my career. I’ve had a good career and made good money. My wife and I could have retired but I love the company of my colleagues, my work, and the culture of YPTC so much, and it’s so rewarding, and I feel so appreciated and valued, that I’ve extended my career and I don’t know if I’m ever going to retire. I can’t imagine a better place to work or a better firm to have as your advocate than YPTC. I’ve worked in the accounting field for 35 years. I just wish I’d found these guys long ago!
