"They checked every box on my wish list..."
I was an accounting major in college. I was following the CPA route and had started my MBA studies when I realized that tax and audit wasn’t for me. Ironically, shortly after that realization, I got a call from my former high school principal who asked if I had any interest in teaching finance and accounting classes to high school students – and coaching football and baseball. I accepted! Years later, as my family started to grow, I needed more financial stability and moved on to the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) where I developed continuing education programs for accounting professionals. I learned about YPTC when I was at a point in my career where I was ready to take a strategic step forward for my individual and professional growth. After speaking with several people at YPTC I quickly realized they checked every box on my wish list and I was confident that it was the right time for a change.
Today I’m YPTC’s National Director of Training and Development, responsible for all the internal and external training of everything YPTC has to offer.
YPTC is such an inclusive, supportive and proactive organization. Everybody is focused on the mission and wants to help our clients. Everybody wants what’s best for everybody else. Everybody is available at any time to answer questions and offer advice. It’s a truly inclusive culture that permeates through the company. And I say it’s proactive because we’re constantly looking for ways to improve what we do and offer transformational services and remain a Best Place To Work.
YPTC also offers the growth opportunity that I was seeking. Organizational growth and scaling come with challenges, of course, but because the company as a whole is so supportive there is always help available to overcome those challenges and develop solutions. You’re always working on something that‘s going to take us to the next level – you’re never bored working at YPTC!
