After college all those years ago, I worked in public accounting and internal audit. Then I gravitated to controller positions at health care providers and nonprofits. I was happy to join YPTC in order to stretch beyond health care, learn more about the nonprofit world and make meaningful use of my work experience.

I believe our business model is far better for both parties. By working at clients’ offices, we get to know them very well and they become trusting and forthcoming with us. This enables us to be more responsive and proactive for their sake.

I love having such a variety of clients. My range is from think tanks to a professional association to a preschool. Never would I have predicted a workday with the sound of children’s laughter coming from a playground. Since my clients’ missions are so worthy, I’m fired up to do my part. My clients are delightful and down-to-earth, and they often express their appreciation. It was a pleasant surprise to receive applause at a recent board meeting.

At YPTC, we’re entrusted to work independently and apply professional judgment. I see this as a show of respect for the abilities that each associate brings. At the same time, we have the advantages of relevant training and easy contact with in-house expertise. Quite simply, I feel useful and content here at YPTC.
