Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY) is a nonprofit law firm providing no-cost civil legal services to low-income and vulnerable people. LASNNY also serves and supports the legal community, legislators, and community-based organizations. Its mission is to fight for fairness, dignity, and justice for those living in poverty and for a society which is inclusive and equitable for all.

Nic Rangel, Executive Director of LASNNY, heard of YPTC through her Executive Coach and a YPTC advertisement on public radio. LASNNY was facing a crisis in its fiscal department and YPTC provided the services needed to successfully overcome those challenges.

LASNNY worked closely with a YPTC Manager and was assigned an Associate and an Accountant. “The YPTC team helped me, as a new Executive Director, build an entirely new accounting department, keep the organization afloat. YPTC built all new systems, policies, procedures, and processes for the Department and organization as we built out the department and hired all new accounting staff. YPTC helped me hire our new Director and has provided training for the new staff in the unit,” Nic says.

Nic explains that close relationships developed with the YPTC staff assigned to their project and how she deeply appreciates all of them, “They were all adaptable team players, strong communicators, and brought a ton of analytical, problem-solving experience. They all provided high quality expertise that exceeded expectations.” She specifically mentions a few YPTC staff members: Dennis McCaffery, Crystal Murphy, Vicki Turner, and Eddy Andreini Rodriguez, “LASNNY would not be in as strong of a position as we are today without these teammates, particularly Crystal and Eddy. Each of these people played an important role here.”
