New Jersey Audubon

"It's been a remarkable process...."

Founded in 1897, New Jersey Audubon is a privately supported, nonprofit, statewide membership organization. It is one of the oldest independent Audubon societies and not a chapter of the National Audubon Society. Through education, publications, 34 wildlife sanctuaries, seven educational birding and nature centers, and field research, New Jersey Audubon develops, encourages and supports sound conservation practices, programs and legislation addressing the state’s natural environment, flora and fauna, and habitats.

When New Jersey Audubon’s Vice President for Finance abruptly left after 15 years and gave only 2-1/2 weeks’ notice, President & CEO Eric Stiles was faced with an emergency situation. “We had succession planning for each department,” he recalls, “but we didn’t have anyone with the skills set to fill in the finance department on an interim basis.” Stiles reached out to YPTC and hired them rather quickly so there would be some overlap with the outgoing vice president.
