Your Part-Time Controller, LLC, which for 20 years has been providing outsourced accounting, bookkeeping and financial services to the nonprofit sector, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest office which will serve social impact organizations in New York City and the tri-state metropolitan area.

Starting from modest beginnings in Cherry Hill, N.J. in 1993 and later expanding into Philadelphia, Penna., Your Part-Time Controller has quickly emerged as the premier provider of controllership services for nonprofit organizations from Virginia to Rhode Island. A Washington, D.C. office was opened in 2007, and the next logical expansion step was in New York, said Eric Fraint, CPA, President and Founder.

“We started providing service to nonprofit clients in The Bronx in 2008, and later added clients in North Jersey and Brooklyn while working out of our Philadelphia and South Jersey offices. Demand for Your Part-Time Controller’s services has become so strong in New York that it became necessary and infinitely more convenient to open an office in Manhattan,” he said.

The YPTC office, with a staff of full-time employees, is located at 601 West 26th Street, Suite 325, in the bold, iconic Starrett-Lehigh Building, a 2.3-million square foot landmark in the West Chelsea Historic District, the epicenter of an evolving art, innovation and technology scene. The building is noted for fostering a community of creative, inspirational tenants. The YPTC office is housed in the collaborative space at the new Centre for Social Innovation, home to a diverse community of people and organizations that are creating a better world.

“We are immensely proud to be affiliated with the Centre for Social Innovation, a catalyst for social change, a community center, and an incubator for people and organizations who are changing the world. Their high standards for nonprofit organizational excellence and social entrepreneurship are a match for our corporate values.

“Like YPTC, the Centre is also new to New York and also works exclusively with social mission organizations in a culture of collaboration to build their capacity.

“This is a tremendous resource for us and a great opportunity for Your Part-Time Controller to help the local and national nonprofits that call New York home,” said Jennifer Alleva, YPTC Partner and manager of the New York office.

“New York is a nexus for transformation with thousands of social mission organizations committed to positive change and a brighter future. We have found that for most nonprofits accounting is not their forte, and they often do not have the resources to hire a full-time CFO and staff. There is a tremendous demand for our services to help them have an effective financial department without the costs involved,” she added.

YPTC specializes in tailoring its services to meet the needs, budget and schedule of each client, working with them as a team. All work is done on the nonprofit’s premises. “We do what we do best to enable nonprofits to concentrate on what they do best,” she said.

“Any accounting firm can help a business to implement procedures that ensure better control, transparency and compliance. But not all accounting firms are specialized in the intricacies of nonprofit finances, laws and regulations, nor is their mission necessarily to help give something back to the community,” said Fraint.

“We provide nonprofit executives and their boards of directors with the reassurance of knowing that their financial department is operating the way it’s supposed to, producing accurate, timely and meaningful information and analysis. We take a major worry off their hands so they can sleep at night,” he said.

“Our goal is to work in partnership with nonprofits to help them build a better world. We do this by building stronger nonprofits, one accounting department at a time,” said Fraint.
