ERIC FRAINT COMMENTS ON THE PENN STATE/SECOND MILE INVESTIGATIONS

The investigations into allegations of sex abuse at The Pennsylvania State University by former football defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky have expanded to include additional scrutiny of the Second Mile Center for Excellence, the charity founded and headed by Sandusky who is under indictment for 40 counts of child molestation. Investigators are examining the unusually close ties between Second Mile, one of the largest nonprofit youth services agencies in the Commonwealth, and the university.

As these investigations continue, news media have reached out to nonprofit authorities to gain additional perspectives on the issues facing the nonprofit sector. In one such interview, published Nov. 27, 2011 in The Philadelphia Inquirer, YPTC President and Founder Eric Fraint added his insights on the situation.
